AVIF to JPG Converter

Convert AVIF images to JPG in your browser. Batches of up to 10 files, quality you control, no upload and no watermark. Free AVIF to JPG converter, no account.

What this tool does

AVIF is the format modern sites serve to save bandwidth, and it is exactly the file that older apps, editors, and upload boxes refuse. Drop up to 10 AVIF files here and get back JPGs that open anywhere. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so the images never leave your device. Free, no account, no watermark.

Each file can be up to 50 MB.

How it works

  1. Add your AVIF files.
  2. Set the JPG quality, or leave the default.
  3. Convert, then download each JPG or grab them all as a ZIP.

When to use it

  • Apps that predate AVIF

Plenty of editors, office suites, and CMS platforms still reject AVIF. A JPG copy opens in all of them.

  • Sharing outside the browser

AVIF opens in current browsers and newer image viewers, but messaging apps, photo printers, and older phones may not take it. JPG plays everywhere.

  • Whole batches at once

Select up to 10 AVIF images and convert them in one pass instead of one by one.

Your images stay yours.

The conversion runs entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and the original AVIF files stay exactly where they are.

Quality is under your control. The default 90 keeps images looking sharp while staying small enough to email or upload. Turn it up for prints, down for quick shares.

One honest note: AVIF compresses more aggressively than JPG, so the detail it discarded before the file reached you is gone. JPG cannot restore it; no converter can. Expect the JPG to also be larger than the AVIF was, because JPG is the less efficient format.

Converting out of other web formats? The WebP to JPG converter and the PNG to JPG converter work the same way.

Frequently asked questions

Is this AVIF to JPG converter free?

Yes. Free, no account, no watermark, no daily cap.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Your browser decodes the AVIF and encodes the JPG locally, so the conversion happens entirely on your device. The files never leave your computer.

Why is the JPG bigger than the AVIF was?

AVIF is simply a more efficient codec; the same image needs more bytes in JPG. That is the trade for a file that opens in every app, not a sign that something went wrong.

What happens to animated AVIF files?

An animated AVIF converts to a JPG of its first frame. JPG has no animation support, so a moving image needs a video or GIF workflow instead.

Does the JPG keep the original's metadata?

No. The converted JPG comes out clean, without the original's metadata. That is a side effect of how browser-based conversion works, and for most people it is the outcome they wanted anyway.

How many files can I convert at once?

Up to 10 AVIF files per batch, each up to 50 MB. Run the tool again for more.
