Image Resizer & Cropper

Resize and crop images to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn sizes, or any custom dimensions. Free image resizer with full crop control, no upload.

What this tool does

This free online image resizer crops and scales pictures to exact dimensions: one-click presets for YouTube thumbnails, Instagram posts and stories, TikTok, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn, or any custom width and height you type. The image is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Choose how the image fills the frame (crop, pad, or stretch), lock the aspect ratio when it must not change, and export up to 10 images at once as JPG, PNG, or WebP. Free, no account, no watermark.

How it works

  1. Add your images (JPG, PNG, or WebP, up to 10 files, 50 MB each).
  2. Pick a platform preset or enter custom dimensions, and choose cover, contain, or stretch.
  3. Export and download each image or grab them all as a ZIP.

When to use it

  • Platform-perfect uploads

A thumbnail at exactly 1280 by 720, a story at 1080 by 1920, a LinkedIn banner at the right shape: pick the preset and stop looking up sizes.

  • Crop without stretching

Cover mode fills the new frame by cropping the overflow, so faces and subjects stay in proportion instead of going wide or squashed.

  • Consistent batches

Ten product photos into one uniform size in a single pass, with transparent padding where the image does not fill the frame.

Every resize mode, honestly labeled

The three fit modes solve different problems. Cover fills the target completely and crops whatever does not fit, which is what you want for thumbnails and avatars. Contain fits the whole image inside the frame and pads the leftover space, optionally with transparency in PNG or WebP. Stretch changes the proportions to match exactly, which distorts the picture and is there because occasionally that is genuinely wanted.

Aspect ratio can be locked for custom sizes so width and height change together. If the target is larger than the source, the tool warns that the result is upscaled rather than silently producing a soft image.

Nothing is uploaded. The resizing happens on your device, and PNG export is lossless so a resize never costs quality unless you ask JPG or WebP to.

Frequently asked questions

What size should a YouTube thumbnail be?

1280 by 720 pixels, 16:9. The preset applies it in one click, along with banner, post, and story sizes for the major platforms.

Will resizing reduce my image quality?

Downscaling to a smaller size keeps images looking sharp. Upscaling warns you, because enlarging adds no real detail. The export format decides the rest: PNG is lossless, JPG and WebP trade a little detail for size at the quality you choose.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The resizing and cropping run entirely in your browser, and the files never leave your device.

What is the difference between cover and contain?

Cover crops the image so it fills the frame completely. Contain shows the whole image and pads the space around it. Stretch fills the frame by distorting. The label on each option says which is which.

Can I resize images in bulk?

Yes, up to 10 images per batch, each up to 50 MB, with a ZIP download for the whole set.
