One honest note: PDF cannot store HEIC pixels directly, so each photo is converted to a high quality JPG first and that JPG is embedded in the PDF. The pixels come from your photos and nothing is re-compressed after that step, but the HEIC to JPG step is a real conversion, not a lossless rename.

Does the conversion lose quality?
The photos are converted to JPG at the quality you pick before being placed in the PDF, and the default 90 is visually indistinguishable from the original in normal use. There is no further compression after that.
Can I control the page layout?
Yes. Fit to image makes each page exactly the size of its photo; A4 and Letter place each photo on a standard page with your chosen orientation and margin.
How do I change the page order?
Pages follow the order the files are listed in. Remove and re-add the files in the order you want, then create the PDF again.
How many photos can I put in one PDF?
